About Us

Mark GervaisMark Gervais's life and ministry are driven by a desire to see God glorified in the church of Jesus Christ.  He was graciously converted to faith by the Holy Spirit as a college student in 1980, and has striven to bring glory to God through various ministry activities ever since. While working as a computer software engineer, he was an active member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama teaching Sunday School and working in various leadership positions.  He also served as the Teaching Leader for a men's Bible Study Fellowship class from 1990 to 2000.  Under the teaching of James Montgomery Boice, Mark recognized a call to pastoral ministry, and in 2000 was licensed to preach and became the Interim Pastor of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama.  In 2001, he surrendered to full-time Christian ministry, and became the pastor of Hebron Baptist Church near Laurel, Mississippi where he was ordained.  Mark moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2003 to pursue a ministerial education, and graduated summa cum laude from Bethel University in 2005 with a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies.  He is currently serving as the Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

Mark is supported in the work of the ministry by his wife Deb, who has also served in Bible Study Fellowship and Christian Women's Job Corp.  They have a son, Matthew, who is an on-air personality with KKQY Radio in Hays, KS, and a daughter, Rachel, who is married to Daniel Commerford and pursuing her bachelor's degree from Bethel University.
